LITCHFIELD, IL – The automotive training program at the South Central Illinois Regional Workforce Training and Innovation Center (SCI) in Litchfield has officially received ASE Training Program Accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation, a national leader in automotive service excellence. SCI’s program has been accredited in the area of Maintenance and Light Repair.

To earn this prestigious recognition, SCI’s automotive training program underwent a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the ASE Education Foundation. The evaluation measured the program against nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas including instruction, facilities, equipment, and industry relevance.

“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, President of the ASE Education Foundation. “Because this program strengthens collaboration between local education and industry leaders, it offers added assurance that SCI’s graduates will be job-ready as employable, entry-level technicians. Thanks to the high quality of education at SCI, the motoring public will ultimately benefit from more qualified, well-trained repair technicians entering the workforce.”

The ASE Education Foundation is a nonprofit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs based on standards developed and validated by the automotive industry.

Juletta Ellis, Director of SCI, expressed pride in the achievement: “Over the past year, we’ve worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation and our local auto advisory partners to ensure our program meets the highest industry standards. We are proud to now be among the ranks of ASE-accredited training programs. This accreditation assures students they are receiving a top-tier education—and gives local employers confidence that our graduates are prepared to meet workforce demands.”

SCI serves students from nine regional school districts across Montgomery and Macoupin counties, offering hands-on, career-ready training in automotive technology and a range of other skilled trades.
